Creating a baby registry is fun and exciting—oh, and totally overwhelming. It feels like there are a million newborn checklist to choose from (in fact, there very well might be), and narrowing down which store (or stores) to send your friends and family to can be daunting.

After all, you want your picks to be convenient and fall into everyone’s budgets while still including everything you want and need for your new baby. Enter our guide to the best baby registries that hit every budget and style (and did we mention the discounts they offer?). You can thank us later.

01

Amazon baby registry

If all your guests are online shoppers, Amazon Baby Registry is an all-encompassing behemoth that’s perfect for a one-and-done baby shower registry. Here, you can add all the big, little and in-between baby items you can dream of, and you can’t beat the baby book selection here.

Prices are often the best around, and items will ship fast and free if you spend over $25 or if the gift-giver is an Amazon Prime member. The best part: The Amazon baby registry is the much-desired universal baby registry, allowing you to add gifts from any other website. This means you can add that gorgeous Pottery Barn crib to your Amazon baby registry. Yes, it’s the holy grail of baby registries!

The perks: Amazon customer service is legendary, making it super-easy to make returns and exchanges within 90 days. There’s also a pretty solid one-time-only, finish-off-your-registry discount of 10 to 15 percent (the latter for Amazon Prime customers).

Sign up for a totally free Amazon Baby Registry Welcome Box loaded with oodles of goodies for you and the new baby. Amazon Prime members with a baby registry are also eligible for special offers, such as a welcome box filled with free samples and discounts.

If you're not already a Prime member, here's how you can sign up totally free and get a bunch of other free stuff from Amazon.

2. Target baby registry

Everyone loves making a Target run, so why not send your friends and family there for your baby-to-be? With nearly 2,000 stores nationwide and free shipping online for orders over $35, it’s a convenient baby shower registry for everyone.

Plus, the store has a group gifting option, making it easy for guests to contribute toward larger items (hello, that double travel stroller and convertible car seat!).

From bottles and bedding to car seats and cribs, Target offers all the basics for the ultimate in convenience. Its exclusive Cloud Island brand has boutique-style pieces without the hefty price tag. Just remember that the online selection is often way larger than what’s featured in-store, so keep in mind how your guests shop before adding specific items.

The perks: You get a one-time-only 15 percent off coupon to use on any baby registry items left unpurchased after your baby is born. There’s also a one-year return policy on all items from your registry. When you register, you’ll get a welcome kit stuffed with $50 worth of coupons, samples and other goodies—simply drop by guest services to ask for your baby registry gift.

Buy Buy Baby registry

With the demise of baby-registry fave Babies“R”Us, Buy Buy Baby stepped up to the plate as the all-in-one baby store with its huge selection of baby essentials. You can schedule an in-store appointment with one of the store’s expert registry consultants, who will guide you through the store so that you’re not aimlessly wandering the aisles.

From burp cloths and breast pumps to strollers and slings to everything in between, Buy Buy Baby has all your baby (and mom) bases covered.

The perks: Buy Buy Baby and Bed Bath & Beyond are sister companies, which means that all those 20-percent-off Bed Bath & Beyond coupons that your friends and family have been hoarding can be used at Buy Buy Baby. The store and online baby registry also offer a completion discount of between 10 and 15 percent off. We're also fans of the generous return policy of up to 90 days after your due date, even if your gift receipt is AWOL.

BBB also offers a goody bag full of samples and coupons when you register, but you have to pick it up in-store, as well as a price-match guarantee. #winning

Pottery Barn Kids registry

With its too-cute bedding (Lilly Pulitzer and Monique Lhuillier lines!) and mini-chic furniture and decor, Pottery Barn Kids is a great place to register for your nursery. In other words, this is not the place to go for activity gyms and breastfeeding pillows. While the items are pricier than other retailers, they’re durable, stylish and well-made.

Plus, PBK boasts stellar customer satisfaction and adding items is a breeze. Finally, if you’re a sucker for monogrammed and personalized items, PBK has your name all over it—literally.

The perks: The Pottery Barn Kids baby registry offers a 20 percent completion discount for six months after your baby’s due date. You can also add items to your baby gift registry during this time frame that will qualify for the discount.

Crate & Kids baby registry

If you’re looking for chic baby gear, open a registry at Crate & Barrel’s Crate & Kids (Crate & Kids can be found in more than 40 Crate & Barrel stores across the country, but, chances are, most gift-givers will be shopping online). It’s chock-full of all the cuteness and class you covet and then some.

Here, you can choose from a lovely array of high-quality nursery furniture and decor, such as cribs, bedding, storage solutions and baby toys (you need one of the play mats), along with all the extras to make your baby’s nursery unique, such as modern mobiles and quirky bookends. For big-ticket items, you can select a group gifting option so that friends and family can pitch in.

The perks: Once your baby arrives, you have six months to buy the remaining items on your registry for 10 percent off—you can use the discount on as many times as you’d like.

Walmart baby registry

There are over 5,000 Walmart stores across the United States, making it pretty likely that your loved ones can get to one easily if they don’t love online shopping (score one for convenience!). Walmart Baby Registry carries a wide range of baby-related items, offering you a one-stop shop for items like baby wash, diapers, onesies, strollers and cribs.

We also love that you can easily add items for older kids and parents like the best Walmart twin mattresses and toddler mattresses.

FYI: There’s no baby shower registry completion discount here, and you need to make any and all returns in person.

The perks: While already super-affordable, Walmart goes that extra step to offer a price-match guarantee for baby items from most retailers, including Amazon, Target, and Kohl’s. And, like other retailers, Walmart gifts a free welcome box stuffed with coupons and samples to all parents who use the registry.

Which baby registry has the best perks?

If we had to pick a single best baby registry with the most perks, it would probably be Amazon because you can get just about everything there. Plus, shipping is fast and free for Prime Members.

It's our top baby registry thanks to easy one-click ordering, reliably great prices and an excellent selection of brands and products.
