In my other life, I used to work as an IT Project Manager and spent over seven years at LOBLAWS (fun fact which might be a surprise to anyone who hasn't followed me for very long). When I was still there and Magnus was just born, I heard rumours that corporate was coming out with a way to make grocery shopping easier and faster by launching a CLICK & COLLECT online grocery service, where busy customers could buy their groceries online and pick them up at the store at a time that is convenient for them.

Excited that the Click & Collect service has finally launched—with a smartphone app sure to follow soon—I decided to try it out for myself.

Last week while Henrik and Magnus napped, and while Johannes was at camp, I built my grocery list online. I knew it would be impossible to try to grocery shop on my own with all three kids, especially when Henrik's feeding windows are still short, so I loved the convenience of being able to shop in the quiet of my bedroom without having to leave the house.

I set the pickup date and time for when I knew the boys would be awake, a few days later in my case, but you can set your pick up as far out as two weeks.  The next day, I loaded up the boys, drove to the closest Loblaws I had selected and picked up my order.  It was so easy and I didn't have to drag the kids around the aisle with me, which is a bit crazy right now with Magnus still very much in the terrible twos.

I have to add that the Loblaws location I selected was one where I had to park and go inside myself to pick up my order. Though it's still much easier than me shopping up and down the aisles, some stores offer designated parking spots and staff will even bring out the groceries straight to your car and load them in (a bonus for parents with sleeping babies in car seats!)

Here's a little video of our quick shopping trip...Johannes was very proud of being able to help!
